Financial Counseling

We work closely with our guests and caregivers to identify the best way to pay for adult day services at the Center. Our goal is that no one be turned away due to an inability to pay. When you come for your initial tour, our representative can go over the types of payment options that are available to you. In general, adult day services are not covered by Medicare, although Medicaid covers some costs or other insurers do.

Payment options include:

Veteran’s Administration (VA)Adult Day Health Care is a program Veterans can go to during the day for social activities, peer support, companionship, and recreation. VA benefits pay for a certain number of hours of service per week. We work collaboratively with the local VA to provide support to our local veterans.

Long Term Care Insurance – Long-term care insurance may also pay for adult day services, depending on the policy. The guest is responsible for payment to the Center and is reimbursed by their long term care insurance policy.

Private Pay – Many guests and caregivers pay directly. Payment is due on the first of the month for scheduled visits.

Family Relief Fund and Financial Aid – There are funds available on a limited basis for those who cannot afford to otherwise attend. This is made possible through the generosity of donors and foundations. Make a donation here.

Medicaid – There are several Medicaid Waiver or block grants that individuals may qualify for, including The Choices for Independence Program for seniors with chronic illnesses who are financially eligible for Medicaid. There is also the Social Services Block Grant, funded under Title XX of the Social Security Act. We’ll work with families to find out which might provide funding based on the guest’s needs.

Other Programs

Dependent Care Tax Credits – For some individuals, dependent care tax credits are available to the caregiver. In order to claim this tax credit, you must meet certain criteria.  There are other rules in place to meet the guidelines for dependent care credit so speak to your personal accountant for more information.
